DHgate is not a seller

Before you place an order on DHgate, you must understand that you are not actually buying from DHgate. There are many different sellers on DHgate who are the actual manufacturers, retailers and individuals from whom you buy the items.

Since most online shoppers are used to dealing with the site itself when it comes to shopping like Amazon, they mistake DHgate for the actual seller, which can lead to misunderstandings in the event of any problems.

Because DHgate is just a platform used by various Chinese and international manufacturers in many different industries, not a question, “Is DHgate legal?” You should also ask yourself, “Is this particular seller on DHgate real or fake?”

Check the seller first

Since you are buying from third party sellers, you need to check the reviews of every seller you buy from on DHgate. The fact that the site is legal does not mean that each of the sellers on the site are legitimate and trustworthy.

Buying from an unscrupulous seller can not only mean getting an item that doesn’t match the photo shown on the Internet, but it can also jeopardize your credit card details.

Before transferring your card details to purchase a product, be sure to study all available information about this seller. It is important to answer the question “Is DHgate reliable” for each seller.

Many sellers are perfectly legal, but some are not. Anyone who purchases through the site should take the time to answer the question, “Is this seller reliable?”

Fortunately, DHgate provides a feedback system that allows you to see what others are saying about the seller, and you can even contact the seller directly with any questions you may have.

We looked at several DHgate reviews and seller ratings and were pleased to see that they reflected a true blend of ratings (not just 4 or 5 stars). This will indicate that the site is not only showing good reviews, but all of them are available, including negative ones.

To take it one step further in finding if DHgate is a legitimate site based on the sellers it hosts, we recommend browsing the seller’s site (find the link at the bottom of the product listing) and also search for the seller using the word “reviews”

Is DHgate a real shopping website?

DHgate is a real website where real online sellers sell their wares, mostly on their own. While the site is technically legal, it hosts many online merchants who may not.

With a site like Amazon, there is a sense of trust because your purchase is secured and executed by Amazon itself (in most cases).

Often times, you buy directly from Amazon and not from a third party. Thus, DHgate is more like eBay than Amazon. On eBay, you buy directly from a third-party seller and it is understood that the buyer has to be careful.

Is DHgate a legit site? Yes. The platform is real, as evidenced by many real customers who have purchased items on DHgate.

But, just like with eBay, it’s important to approach the buying process with skepticism and ask the right questions. One of these questions usually goes like this: Why are the goods so cheap?

DHgate is mainly populated by sellers in China who do wholesale of goods. This means that this company either manufactures or purchases a huge amount of goods at one time, which drastically reduces costs.

DHgate operates in part as a B2B site, which means that the main purpose of many of these sellers is to sell to other wholesale buyers. This is important when it comes to discounts.

If you are interested in buying 200+ smartphones for just $ 130 apiece, this is great news for you. But if you only want one of these smartphones, you could pay around $ 172 for it, as the discounted price depends on the quantity purchased.

However, while DHgate is heavily busy with wholesalers and B2B buyers, you may also find seemingly too good to be true offers on many individual items that are meant to be sold directly to individual consumers.

For example, in our review of wholesale prices on DHgate, we saw that the difference between buying another smartphone and buying ten or more was only $ 10.

At first glance, the low prices on DHgate may seem like a great advantage. But these price tags are too good to be true, and have left many wary shoppers wondering: Is DHgate a real website? Is DHgate.com legal?

DHgate: real or fake?

If you flip through many online reviews, opinions and answers about DHgate to the question: “Is DHgate real?” you will find that many real people have actually made purchases through the website – and in many cases successfully.

You can place an order with a seller on DHgate and expect to at least receive something in the mail. Our review of DHgate showed that the problem is more about  what  you should expect to get and from whom.

Like many other online marketplaces, DHgate hosts several different sellers. Some of them are reputable shipping items that match the pictures shown in their advertisements on DHgate.

However, some DHgate reviews report that customers are receiving items that are virtually different from what they think they ordered.

While sometimes this type of bait and substitution is unavoidable, many of these cases could have been avoided if buyers had done their part.

Diligence on DHgate and DHgate.com seller before placing order.

Before you make any purchases on the site, and before you can fully answer the question, “Is DHgate.com legal?” it is important to understand how DHgate works.
